In this article I discuss the fourth way to make money with doTERRA: The Unilevel bonus plan. This is main doTERRA compensation plan in which you can make money on several levels. This plan allows you to build a passive, recurring income that you will receive month after month.
If you have not read the article explaining the terms used in the doTERRA compensation plan you may want to do so now.
This is doTERRA's main compensation plan in which you can receive commissions on all PV purchased on 7 levels of your down-line.
Looking at the image above, notice that, in doTERRA. you receive the highest commissions on your deeper levels and the lowest commissions on your upper levels.

This gives doTERRA Wellness Advocates a huge monetary advantage over distributors in other MLM companies, which typically do the reverse. That’s because, since MLM organizations grow in a somewhat exponential fashion, you will have the greatest number of Wellness Advocates on your deepest levels.
So paying out the highest commissions on these levels means you ultimately will make far more money than you would if this compensation plan was reversed.
The chart above shows monthly bonuses earned when each Wellness Advocate on all 7 levels adds 3 new Wellness Advocates to their first level with each one placing a 150 PV order for the month.
On the left is the doTERRA compensation plan that pays higher percentages at deeper levels. The reverse plan, which pays higher percentages at lower levels - which is what most MLM companies do - is shown on the right.
Notice that on levels 1,2, 3 and 4 (in which you would have a total of 3,9,27 and 81 Wellness Advocates respectively), those on the payment plan on the right are making more money than those on the left (the doTERRA side).
But beginning at level 5, this reverses - with the doTERRA side paying out $3,046 a month and other MLM companies paying out $2,784 a month.
And by the time you get to level 7 you would be making $32,571 a month in doTERRA compared to $12,626 a month in most other companies.
To qualify for compensation on each of the various levels of this doTERRA compensation plan you must have acquired a certain rank. (Once you reach the rank of "Silver" you will be eligible to receive compensation on all 7 levels.)
I go over rank qualifications on my page. doTERRA ranks and income. For now, just know that you advance in rank by building your business correctly and helping the Wellness Advocates in your down-line do the same.
I mention this here because, although doTERRA only pays uni-level bonuses on 7 levels, they also have what they call “dynamic compression”.
Dynamic compression means that, when a Wellness Advocate’s rank does not qualify them to receive a particular uni-level bonus, that bonus will “roll up” and be paid to the next Wellness Advocate in their up-line who does qualify for that bonus.
This means that you may, in fact, end up receiving commissions on levels deeper than your 7th level.
Keep This In Mind
Keep in mind that uni-level bonuses are paid out in addition to all other bonuses described on this website.
Also keep in mind that the diagram comparing money earned from the doTERRA compensation plan with other MLM compensation plans represents just one leg of your organization. You will undoubtedly be building more legs as time goes on.
And, of course, this is all residual income which you receive every month, as long as you qualify.
In addition to the bonuses you receive from fast-start, power-of-3, and the uni-level bonus plans, doTERRA rewards Wellness Advocates who continue to build their business with corporate profit sharing or “leadership pool” bonuses.
Although you won’t be eligible to participate in these pools when you are just starting out, it is worth taking a look at them because these bonuses can be substantial.
There are two main categories of leadership pools – the Infinity Performance pools and the Diamond pools. And there are 3 separate pools within each of these categories.
Bonuses in each of these pools are paid monthly to each Wellness Advocate who qualifies for the bonus in that month. I go over these leadership pools in more detail on my page, doTERRA leadership pools.
doTERRA Ranks. Ranks are levels that you reach as you build your downline organization.
Rank is important because you need to hold a certain rank to be eligible to receive compensation from the various levels of doTERRA’s Unilevel compensation plan. To learn more about ranks click on this link.
